On this day we will drive 155km and have to walk around 1 hour.At the whole trip you can meet Mong people and see their lifestyle. On the way we have enough time to stop at wonderful places to take a photo or just enjoy the landscape.
The heaven’s Gate is 1500m high and over the clouds. The view is amazing. In Quan Ba you can see the famous twin mountains. After that we will have lunch in a small restaurant in Yen Minh.
Drive down Ha Giang stop 15km west from Dong Van to visit the Vuong palace which the Mong people built for their own King.
At least we will reach Dong Van at 5pm. You will stay in a Hotel and have dinner. Dong Van is a quiet village which is nice to walk around,
When you stay in Dong Van on a Sunday, you can visit the Sunday market. Otherwise, head to the Chinese border at Lung Cu right after breakfast. Here you will find the northernmost point of Vietnam, with a huge flagpole on top of a mountain.
Day 3 of this trip through northern Vietnam continues on the most impressive stretch of road in Vietnam. The Ma Pi Leng Pass is not only the highlight of the Ha Giang loop, but also one of the most beautiful places in Vietnam.
Stay at Meo Vac.
If you are in Meo Vac on Sunday you are in luck. you will find Ha Giang’s largest minority market.
The journey continues from Ha Giang to Cao Bang Province.
This unspoilt province is beautiful with local villages, mountains in the background and beautiful rice fields.
At the end of the day you arrive in Trung Khanh where you spend the night.
After breakfast you will head back to the Chinese border. This time to visit the largest and most impressive waterfall in Vietnam: the Ban Gioc waterfall.
After the waterfall you will go to a cave nearby before driving towards Ba Be.
Overnight in Ba Be National Park
Start your morning with a boat trip on Ba Be Lake; Vietnam’s largest natural lake. In this boat trip you will visit a cave with a river and cruise through the jungle.
At around 12 noon you will drive back to Hanoi where your trip ends.
